Lessons learned from complaints



Saying we’re sorry if we get things wrong is as important as putting things right as quickly as possible. It is even more important that we learn from complaints so that we don’t make the same mistakes again and to help us to improve the services we provide. Positive feedback from customers is also very valuable and helps us to improve services too.

Some of the lessons learned/improvements made as a result of feedback include:

  • We now provide better privacy facilities so that sensitive matters can be discussed confidentially.
  • We’ve reviewed and updated our internal procedures to ensure improvement and alteration requests are processed effectively and according to agreed plans.
  • We’ve introduced an audit check to ensure we’re keeping our promises and responding to telephone messages within 2 working days.
  • As a result of feedback we carried out a full review of our garage stock and were able to ensure that our computer records are fully up to date.


In 2009/10 we received 92 compliments, an increase of 19% compared to the previous year, acknowledging our hard work in continuously trying to improve the services we provide for our customers.
