Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future

Muir Group is a registered charitable organisation committed to providing housing and related services to people who need affordable homes.

We currently manage over 4,700 properties within 33 council districts. Our properties are mainly available for affordable rent although some are homes which we jointly own with our residents. We also provide sheltered housing and supported housing for people with additional needs. We employ over 170 members of staff who operate from several regional offices in Chester, Blackpool, Burnley, Helsby, Huntingdon and Winsford.

Our mission is to create thriving sustainable communities, to provide the highest quality affordable homes and to support our customers with excellent services and advice. Muir recognises that good environmental management must be an integral part of its business strategy and therefore should be integrated into all operations and activities wherever practicable.

This Environmental Policy Statement demonstrates our strong commitment to environmental sustainability and to the promotion of this strategy to all employees, customers, contractors and other stakeholder, to which this policy statement will be freely available. We are also committed to the continual improvement of our environmental performance and to the prevention of pollution and environmental impact derived from our business activities. Furthermore we are committed to meeting, and where possible exceeding, the requirements of all environmental regulations, legislation and codes of practice, relevant to our organisation.
