Muir Group Housing Association is committed to meeting its responsibilities to leaseholders under the terms of their leases, and to providing you with high quality services in the management and maintenance of your home and estate.

Muir Group Housing currently manages 519 leasehold properties, 394 shared ownership properties, and 125 long leasehold properties, which were purchased under Right to Buy/Right to Acquire.

MGHA are committed to offering the same standards of customer care and the same performance standards to our leaseholders as we offer to our tenants. We want you to enjoy living in your home and neighbourhood and by working together to ensure that each others rights and responsibilities are respected then it will help all to enjoy a high quality of life.

Leasehold Services Officer

Suzanne is responsible for the day to day management for all shared ownership and rent to homebuy schemes across the country and should be contacted for any queries regarding your development.

Helen will assist any shared owners who wish to sell their property, or acquire more shares.

Any tenants who wish to apply to buy their property under the Right to Buy or Right To Acquire scheme should contact Penny. Alternatively, if you are a leaseholder and have fallen behind with payment of your service charges or have difficulty in paying your interm bill in full (RTB/RTA leaseholders only).




Buildings Insurance

As a homeowner it is strongly recommended that you insure your home against such risks as fire, flood, accidental damage, etc.

Buying a home of your own is likely to be the biggest purchase you will ever make so it is important you protect what is a very valuable possession.

As a shared owner, or if you are a long leaseholder but we own the freehold to your property, then we have responsibility for insuring your home. We insure your home on our block policy. As all our shared owners and long leaseholders are insured on this policy, we get a cheaper rate and we pass these savings on to you. The cost for this is passed on to you through your monthly service charge.

As is common with most insurance policies there maybe an excess payable on each claim made. In our case this excess is currently £100 (April 2011) and this has to be met by you.

Where you own a property on a development with a Managing Agent, payment is still made to the Association as part of your annual service charge, but you will need to contact the Managing Agent of your development for any new claims.
