In the April 2011 edition of your Local Voice we set out our Local Offer to you. The Local Voice contained specific actions that we planned to take in your area between April 2011 and March 2012.

This edition of your Local Voice provides you with an update on the progress we had made so far and any action we have planned.

Your Priorities

From your feedback we identified several priorities in your local area. Below is the action we have taken, or that we plan to take, in relation to these priorities.

You said... We did... We will...
You would like to see everyone taking pride in the area that they live. We have carried out regular estate walkabouts on our schemes and identified issues requiring attention when doing so.

We work closely with our grounds maintenance contractor to ensure that residents’ concerns are addressed and additional works are carried out when necessary.
Continue to monitor the condition of our estates. We will act on feedback back from residents, contractors and others stakeholders to ensure that our homes are in well maintained areas.
You would like to see more activities for children of all ages to prevent bullying and anti-social behaviour. We have arranged a variety of activities with the local authority and other partners. We continue to seek out opportunities to publicise these activities as widely as possible.

In 2012 we expect to develop a community garden and will be looking to extend our junior wardens scheme.
That you would like to see an improvement in the information available to you about moving home. We have joined the choice based lettings covering Winsford, Trust Homechoice.

This scheme has full and readily available information for customers.
Develop a partnership with the choice based lettings scheme in your area to ensure that we can affect the way this scheme is run, that your experiences are taken into account, and that the information available reflects your needs.

Specific Local Issues:

Location... You said... We did... We will...
Glebe Green There should be more things for young people to do. Interest in the Harmony Community Group has reduced over the last year. We plan to encourage the remaining members to join GGO (a multi agency group working across West Winsford) before disbanding the Harmony Group.

GGO events are taking place regularly across Winsford West.

Connections have also started to work on the Glebe Green estate. This has resulted in more activities for children in the area.

Our junior wardens initiative is progressing well and a Community Garden project has started on site.
Working closely with our partners in the area is creating a number of opportunities for residents of Glebe Green. We will publicise activities as and when they arise. Look out for information in our notice board and around the estate.

We are looking forward to developing a flourishing community garden and want as many people as possible to get involved.
Lichfield Court flats There are problems with excess waste and recycling We have now reduced this issue to a specific block of flats.

Problems in other parts of the estate have been resolved.
Recycling remains an issue in one area.

In partnership with the local authority we will distribute information about recycling to help and inform residents early in 2012.
Glebe Green There is inadequate car parking Bentley Grove. Initial estimates to increase parking in this area are in the region of £30k. Due to the excessive cost of increasing the number of parking spaces available we are considering alternative options.

To assist us we have sought further information from those residents using the car park and will feedback the results shortly.
Glebe Green You feel the estate could be better maintained and kept free from litter and rubbish. An additional litter pick has been included in the grounds maintenance contract. Our junior wardens are also carrying out the same and learning about the importance of keeping the estate tidy and free from litter. We will continue to monitor the performance of our contractor and identify any additional works that are necessary to ensure the estate remain well maintained.
