Muir appoints two new board members

Muir Group has appointed two new members to its board.

Alison Greaves and Jan Chillery have settled in well to their new roles, and bring with them a wealth of experience.

Alison Greaves joins the board having worked in the health, education, finance and property management industries.  She is also in the process of gaining further qualifications to become as a social worker. Alison has links with various charities across the North West, including a domestic abuse charity, and has raised thousands of pounds for Breakthrough for Breast Cancer.

Alison said:

“I think that it’s important that Muir residents have a voice at the table, and it has been a real honour to have been selected to join the board. I have enjoyed getting out and about visiting the association’s various schemes, which has given me the opportunity to see first-hand the kind of work of Muir does on a daily basis. I’m really enjoying the role and I hope I can make a positive difference to the lives of our residents.”

 

Also joining the Muir board is Jan Chillery. Jan is a practising solicitor specialising in insolvency, business recovery and turnaround, with a degree in International Business.  Jan is currently working as a Senior Associate of a leading North West law firm, and has formerly held positions in a cross-media publishing PLC in London and an outdoor pursuits company in Wales.  She is a Governor of Overleigh St Mary's C of E Primary School and Secretary of Chester Regatta.

 

Jan said: “Since joining the board, I’ve been very impressed with Muir’s commitment to invest in its communities and the change the lives of its residents.

 

“Like many other housing providers, Muir is facing a number of challenges over the next few years. But the Association is in a great position to meet these challenges, and I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to ensure that Muir continues to not only be a great housing provider, but a thriving and successful business as well.”
