Muir has customer focus as Association attends National Housing Federation conference

THREE senior Muir colleagues are attending ground-breaking national conferences to help ensure the housing association continues to deliver excellent services to its customers.

The Princess Royal will speak at the National Housing Federation Annual Conference when Sam Scott, Muir’s Executive Director of Operations, and Mark Pearson, the association’s Assistant Director of Communities and Customer Service, attend the September 21st-23rd event in Birmingham.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Prime Minister Michael Heseltine will speak at the Development Asset Management and Maintenance Conference being staged at the same ICC building, where Muir’s New Business Manager, Paul Andrew, will be among those in attendance.

Sam says the opportunity for the Association to attend will be invaluable in helping to shape Muir’s future and ensure it is well placed to meet sector challenges head on.  Sam Scott and Mark Pearson

“The National Housing Federation conference provides a valuable opportunity to debate key challenges and opportunities facing the sector,” said Sam (pictured here [left] with Mark Pearson).

“We will hear from key decision makers, policy makers and practitioners, enabling us to develop our own policies and position ourselves to take on these challenges accordingly.

Mark added: “The conference will allow us to raise the Muir profile and provides a good opportunity to network with other housing professional from across the country.

“It is a privilege to represent Muir at such a prestigious and important event.”

Joining HRH Princess Anne on the stand will be UK Housing Minister, Gavin Barwell, while political editor Robert Peston will also provide his expert analysis as 85 speakers help deliver 27 conference sessions over the three-day conference and exhibition.

Meanwhile, Paul (pictured left) hopes his presence at the September 21st and 22nd Development Asset Management and Maintenance Conference will also help influence some of the building blocks shaping Muir’s growth strategy.

Lord Heseltine who is co-chair of the Estate Regeneration Panel, will speak alongside National Housing Federation CEO, David Orr, at the event which Paul says will provide invaluable experience and insight with regards to opportunity for growth.

“The conference will enable us to look at examples of best practice across the sector and beyond,” said Paul.

“With the increased emphasis by the UK Government on home ownership, the conference can also help us maximise our potential in this area as well as influence our approach regarding the delivery of new home ownership products.”
