Muir maintenance team provides plenty of property solutions

MUIR has been making great strides in improving the maintenance it delivers since committing a sizeable investment to the service area in April 2015.

The housing association hit the nail on the head when it opted to purchase OP Building Maintenance, now known as Muir Property Solutions, to ensure properties continue to be at their best.

Since then, MPS has carried out more than 10,000 day-to-day repairs and fitted more than 200 new kitchens to Muir properties.

Phil PenmanMuir’s own Stock Condition Surveyor, Phil Penman (pictured right), caught up with some of the MPS teams working on site at the association’s Chester Way scheme at Heber Walk, Northwich.

“The scheme at Heber walk is one that Muir built in 2000,” Phil said.

“It is a mix of houses and flats and MPS are carrying out a full scheme kitchen refurbishment here.

“We are enjoying building a new relationship with the MPS team who are taking on the planned works that we do in these exciting times.”

The Chester Way scheme in Northwich provides a mix of 37 houses and flats, some of which have wheelchair access, and form just some of more than 5,500 Muir properties MPS are helping to maintain across the country.

MPS currently has a fleet of 35 vehicles and employs 45 staff and tradespeople in order to do this.

One of those, MPS site supervisor, Lee Ball (pictured below) said: “We have a strong team of dedicated fitters.

“No two days are ever the same because we have varied roles which keeps things interesting.

“We are always busy and take pride in delivering the services we offer.”

The Managing Director of MPS, Barry Brussels, said the transition for the company to come under the Muir umbrella has been an enjoyable one.

“Changing the name to Muir Property Solutions has helped bring us more into the Muir family,” he said.

“It has been really enjoyable and we are working smarter and generating lots of efficiencies.”

“There is a lot of work going into making sure customers receive what we promise,” said Ian.

“Doing the work in-house means we can choose our own destiny regarding the quality of work we provide.

“We want to make sure we are the masters of what we are doing.

“Our main goal is ensuring we deliver a first class service to customers.”
