New garden unveiled at Winsford Housing scheme

A communal garden space at Lichfield Court, has been transformed thanks to the efforts of residents.

The new-space was unveiled as part of £16,000 worth of improvement works to the Winsford-based scheme. These scheme enhancements have included planting, improved and new fencing, creation of new communal seating area and additional benches.

Residents at Lichfield Court decided that the former communal garden was in need of a facelift, and that they would like an area where all residents could meet and enjoy the warm weather during the summer months.

Lichfield Court Following discussions with their landlord, Muir, they were supported by their Community Housing Officer in submitting a bid to the association’s Regional Residents Forum, which is responsible for allocating Muir’s scheme enhancement budget.

The housing scheme is owned and managed by Muir, and consists of a mixture of flats and houses for rent.

George Turner, Chair of the Northern branch of the Regional Resident Forum said:

“Everyone involved with the RRF North was impressed by the residents’ bid. We were so pleased to support the creation of this and I wish them well. We hope local residents will get the sunny weather to enjoy the garden this year, and for many more years to come.”
