Muir Group set to deliver more homes for our local communities
Despite the difficult climate within the construction industry, locally based Muir Group Housing Association is continuing to add to its Huntingdon housing stock and provide more homes for local people. Working closely with Huntingdon District Council and supported by the Housing Corporation, Muir will shortly deliver 23 new homes over three locations in Huntingdonshire.
The village of Offord Cluny will have a total of nine homes, a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses, some of which will be for rent and some for shared ownership. Three rented houses are planned for Bluntisham and eleven new houses will shortly be built at Farm Close in Upwood, again these will offer a mix of both rented and shared ownership homes. All of the properties will have strict criteria to ensure they are allocated or sold to people with appropriate local connections.
Regional Housing Manager, Ben Tranter, says “There is clearly still strong demand for good quality, affordable housing in Huntingdon, especially when houses are still so expensive and mortgages harder to come by. We are working closely with the Council and hope that the new homes will both meet housing need and help maintain vibrant village communities.”
