Having been given this high recommendation Muir Group is pleased to display the LABC NHW Award of Excellence logo. Azhar Ahmed of Muir Group said: “This symbol of excellence is recognised and appreciated by the public who are becoming increasingly well informed about the quality of the homes they seek to live in.”
The Offord Cluny scheme is made up of nine two and three bedroom houses. Four family homes are available to purchase on a shared ownership basis.
The residential housing development was part funded through the Homes and Communities Agency, and locally supported by Huntingdonshire District Council and the Parish Council’s of Offord Cluny and Offord D’Arcy.
Azhar said: “Muir Group Housing Association worked in partnership with local builder’s, Gould Construction, and Masefields Architects on this project. We are proud that this small rural housing scheme has been recognised in these national awards not only for the high quality design - which have created desirable homes - but also the build quality recognised by the Site Manager of the Year award that went to Pat Tracy of Gould Construction.
“We have worked with both Goulds and Masefields for a number of years and the partnering relationship that has developed has helped Muir ensure that our new properties are more than simply houses but are desirable homes that people can happily live in.
“The success of a scheme is visible by the demand for the properties. There has been great interest in these houses in Offord Cluny and they are expected to be fully occupied within weeks of becoming available.”
The Homes and Communities Agency, the national housing and regeneration agency for England provided £256,000 of funding for the scheme.
Councillor Deborah Reynolds, Executive Councillor for Housing and Public Health, said, "Our villages expect and deserve sympathetic development and building new affordable housing in rural locations presents its own challenges. Huntingdonshire District Council is very pleased to have supported this development and would like to congratulate Muir Group and its other partners for meeting these challenges so successfully.”
