Residents from Tweedsmuir take part in world’s largest coffee morning
RESIDENTS from a Chester sheltered housing scheme have been brewing with excitement as they joined with thousands of people from across the globe to take part in the world’s largest coffee morning to raise money for those affected by Cancer.
Over 50 residents living at Muir Group Housing’s Tweedsmuir sheltered scheme, for those aged over 65 years old, organised a coffee morning to coincide with hundreds of similar events taking place around the world, to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Care, on Friday, October 2.
The event was a huge success and by selling cups of tea and coffee as well as a range of different cakes the residents helped to raise £342 for the charity.
Tweedsmuir scheme manager Lyn Derricutt, said: “We have got involved with this fantastic event for the last couple of years and once again I’m delighted that the residents at Tweedsmuir have really enjoyed taking part and helped to raise such a fantastic sum of money.”
