Anne proves to be residents’ ‘white knight’
ELDERLEY residents in Warrington – trapped in their homes by the freak weather – have had vital supplies delivered in rather unusual fashion.
When heavy snow and icy conditions left many Muir Group Housing residents in Montrose Close house-bound, Anne Chadwick was quick to make sure they weren’t left without.
Anne, Muir Group Housing’s manager of Montrose Close, in the cinnamon brow area of Warrington, braved the conditions and made sure residents had vital supplies – by delivering milk and bread on a sleigh.
Anne explained: “The weather was so bad that many of the residents, who are elderly, couldn’t step out of their front doors. I rang round every morning to make sure they had everything they needed and for those who didn’t I went out to get supplies.
“The roads were so treacherous on the estate though that I couldn’t use the car to make the deliveries and they were too heavy to lift by hand – so I did the next best thing and pulled them along on a sleigh”.
