Dee House
Happy Birthday Dee House!
Dee House, a residential care home for people with mental health issues, celebrated its 25th Anniversary in November.
Dee House marked this milestone by hosting a party for residents, staff past and present, and some special guests.
Since opening in 1990, Dee House, has supported 20 people with enduring mental health issues, offering a range of services to meet their needs.
Project Manager Joy Swainson has been at the scheme since day one and said the residents are the key to its success.
“Dee House has been part of the local community and providing high quality care for local people for so many years, and this was a fun way to celebrate our anniversary,” Joy said.
“Even though we have a number of residents with very challenging mental health issues, the atmosphere here is always professional, friendly, relaxed and respectful.
“Our residents’ enthusiasm and energy is a great inspiration to us all, and it rubs off on the staff. We have had a low turnover of both residents and staff, which shows you that this is a great place to both live and work.
"It’s been an amazing 25 years and Dee House will continue support and enrich the lives of our residents.”
