Jenny Toner, Muir’s Foodbank representative said: “We are delighted to donate this money to the Foodbanks, which do a fantastic job of helping people through challenging times.

Foodbank donation “Foodbanks provide a vital service and Muir is proud to help support them in this way.”

The donations were split between six Foodbanks, all of which are based in areas where Muir itself operates as a housing association – each receiving £867.

They include Cheshire Foodbanks in Ellesmere Port, Warrington, Winsford, Nantwich, as well as Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire, and Blackpool.

Foodbank donation The donations were provided from remaining funds belonging to the Friends of Muir Group Board, which previously provided grant funding for Muir communities before being disbanded.

Founded by The Trussell Trust, the charity supports a network of over 420 foodbanks across the UK.

Muir is one of the organisations acting as a signatory for Foodbank vouchers.
