Assistant Director announces 'exciting new era' for Muir's property services

MUIR stands on the brink of an “exciting new era” for its Property Services team, the department’s newly appointed Assistant Director has said.

Nik Evans recently began reviewing performance of the maintenance services being delivered by Muir, having been brought in by the Association to help enhance its delivery in December 2016.

He hopes to further heighten existing levels of performance being achieved by the Property Services team, in line with Muir’s wider strategy to ‘Redefine Excellence’ across all areas of operation.

Nik believes the acquisition of Muir’s own in-house maintenance contractor, Muir Property Services, in 2015, can be central to improving its overall customer experience; and is aiming to deliver on the Association’s ‘right first time’ philosophy.

“We are looking forward to an exciting new era in Property Services at Muir,” said Nik (pictured).

“We are eager to enhance our own in-house performance in all aspects of the department, starting with reviewing and streamlining our working processes, right through to making further improvements to the standard of maintenance services we provide to customers.

Nik Evans “Muir aspires to deliver on its right first time philosophy and that is something we want to exhibit within Property Services.

“We want to develop and increase the services delivered by MPS (Muir Property Solutions) and ensure the customer experience transcends the positive levels we already currently achieve.”

Nik also hopes the procurement of a new Asset Management System can streamline existing in-house processes to match increased performance levels on the ground as the programme of change unfolds.

“A new system designed to record information regarding maintenance will help Muir to stay on top of its already busy Property Services schedule and allow us to provide the seamless customer experience we aspire to reach,” Nik added.

Residents will be kept up to date with how Muir’s Property Services department is progressing with the programme of change being put in place, with regular milestones being explained on the Muir Group Housing Association website as and when they are reached.

Sam Scott, Muir’s Executive Director of Operations added: “This is a service enhancement we are very much looking forward to implementing.

“We will be pleased to see residents experience the gradual benefit as this period of change unfolds.”
