‘FANTASTIC’ REFIT FOR RESIDENTS ON MUIR ESTATE ENTERS NEXT PHASE

A ‘FANTASTIC’ refit of homes in a Muir community has entered its second phase.

Residents in Warrington are having the exteriors of homes transformed as Muir continues to enhance its Montrose Close estate.

Montrose Close upgrade video Muir is re-roofing properties, re-cladding external walls, re-glazing, enhancing fire resistance and reviewing the energy efficiency of properties.

“The work being done will ensure these homes are fit for the future, making them more energy efficient and enhancing fire safety as well as improving their appearance.”

Work began on the refit in June 2022, with Frank Rogers Building Contractors Ltd working on-site to enhance the homes for residents.

Montrose CloseThey are now able to enter the second phase of the refit after phase one completed ahead of schedule.

 

Montrose CloseFull works include:

  • Re-roofing with modern concrete interlocking pan tiles.
  • The re-cladding of external walls with a mixture of facing brickwork, proprietary silicone render and Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) weatherboard  cladding – compliant with British Board of Agrément fire and building safety industry standards.
  • Replace existing entrance canopy and supporting structures with modern, metal framed glazed entrance canopies.
  • Complete re-glazing with PVC-framed double-glazed windows and doors.
  • Enhancing fire resistance properties of dividing walls between roof spaces.
  • Reviewing the energy efficiency of properties and assessing potential requirements for future renewable energy technologies.
