HELPING US DO ELECTRIC CHECKS IN YOUR MUIR HOME CAN KEEP YOU SAFE

OUR electrical safety checks are vital to helping you stay safe in your Muir home.

It’s really important to allow us access. If you’ve not allowed us access after three attempts, you could be served with a court order allowing us to enter your home.

We do these checks every five years.

Home Office figures show that at least 10% of all house fires are caused by problems with electrical wiring, cables or plugs. We want to ensure that doesn’t happen to you.

“It’s really important we do these checks to help ensure your safety,” Sofia McFadyen, Muir’s Compliance Manager (pictured below) said.

Muir staff“You can help by giving us access when we get in touch.

“You’ll receive a letter from one of our electrical safety contractors, to tell you when an appointment has been made to do an inspection.

“If the date or time is not convenient, then you can contact us to rearrange.

“However, we’ll request a court order to enter your home and do these vital checks if you’ve not allowed us access.”
