A DYNAMIC multi-million-pound Muir investment plan will enhance residents’ homes following a stock condition survey that assessed more than 90% of the Association’s properties.
Due to be unveiled this Autumn, the plan will kick-start a dedicated programme of planned investment – using data from the survey and feedback from #TheBigChat to provide Muir residents with upgraded homes.
Plans will also consider how Muir intends to enhance energy efficiency throughout all its housing stock, making sure the Association ‘goes greener’ by reducing our carbon footprint.
It will implement new fire safety enhancements and replace kitchens, bathrooms, doors and windows wherever necessary, as well as enhancing the value and appearance of properties.
“We can’t wait to unveil our investment plans to Muir residents,” Nik Evans, Muir’s Assistant Director of Property Services said.
“They’ll demonstrate how committed we are to providing homes residents can be proud of and how safety is paramount to our core values.
“Information collected from the Stock Condition Survey is helping us identify the right areas for investment meaning Muir homes will remain safe places to live.
“The huge investment programme will enhance the value and appearance of properties for residents in all areas, while ensuring we remain true to our Health and Safety responsibilities and enhancing energy efficiency.
“We look forward to sharing our plans with residents later this year and we’re excited about the future and what can be achieved.”
Big Chat survey results showed seven out of ten residents were happy with the overall quality of their home.
Launched in February 2020, Muir’s Stock Condition Survey was designed to identify potential areas for improvement and ‘future-proofing’ properties.
Tony Jones, Muir’s Asset Services Manager said: “The data gathered from the Stock Condition Survey puts Muir in a strong position to plan for the future and we’d like to thank all our residents for their assistance during this process over a difficult period of time for everyone during Covid restrictions.
“We are committed to making homes as safe and energy efficient as possible and have already completed many components in relation to fire safety.”
