Housing Minister calls on Muir residents to help shape social housing policy

A GOVERNMENT minister is calling on Muir residents to share their views on social housing.

The Minister of State for Housing and Planning, Alok Sharma MP, is encouraging social housing residents to complete an online questionnaire so he can understand more about the issues and concerns they face, and provide them with a more effective voice.

Mr Sharma (pictured) has been meeting numerous residents from across England, and he hopes the views of Muir residents can help inform the work on the Green Paper on social housing in England which the Government aims to publish in Spring 2018.

Green Papers are consultation documents produced by the Government, aiming to allow people both inside and outside Parliament to give the department feedback on its policy or legislative proposals.

In a letter sent to Muir Group Housing Association, Mr Sharma said: “By the end of this process, I want to have built a comprehensive picture of the issues tenants have raised about social housing, to identify any common concerns and good practice that can inform our national approach in the future.

“I am keen that we enable as many tenants as possible to share their views.”

The questionnaire will be open until Wednesday, January 31st, 2018.

Please take some time to ensure your voice is heard, and help develop future Government social housing policy.
