LATEST BIRD’S-EYE PICTURES SHOW BLACKPOOL BUILDING WORK ABOUT TO START ON 44-HOME SITE

HOUSES at a new 44-home Muir development will soon start appearing as the revitalised site promises more affordable properties for Blackpool.

Groundworks have now been completed at the former factory premises on Watson Road which will offer 27 two-bedroom and 15 three-bedroom houses, as well as two two-bedroom bungalows – all for affordable rent.

Watson RdThe latest drone footage (pictured) shows building work is now ready to commence as Muir helps meet the need for affordable housing in the town.

Cllr Christine Wright, Cabinet Member for Housing at Blackpool Christine Wright Council said: “The former industrial site on Watson Road has stood empty for many years, so we are delighted that our efforts to encourage housing development is moving forward.

“This scheme will make a positive contribution to meeting affordable local housing needs.”

Sam Scott Muir is working with MCI Developments to regenerate the area and help tackle a shortage of affordable housing in Blackpool.

Muir’s Executive Director of Assets and Growth, Sam Scott (pictured) said: “Blackpool is in much need of quality affordable housing and this development underlines Muir’s dedication towards helping deliver quality new homes to the town.”

Benefiting from a Homes England grant, the properties are expected to be completed in Autumn 2019.
