Macmillan coffee morning sees Muir residents raise money for cancer support
TWO Muir residents have helped raise more than £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support after hosting their third ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
John and June Haynes, who also celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year, reside at the Arran Close sheltered housing scheme in Fearnhead, Warrington; and hosted the event for friends and neighbours.
Macmillan Cancer Support hold a dedicated coffee morning each year – with the 2017 event having taken place on September 29th.
And John and June (pictured), were delighted to raise a total of £202.26 this time around having had similar success with their efforts over the previous two years.
Shirley Darlington, Muir’s scheme manager at Arran Close said: “All of the cakes were home-made and absolutely delicious.
“John and June's family also joined them later and continued tucking in to the feast.
“A grand total of £202.26 was raised on the day and John and June would like to thank all who participated.”
