MCCARTNEY HOUSE FACELIFT MEANS RESIDENTS CAN LOVE THE ‘MUIR LIVING’ LIFESTYLE EVEN MORE
FACILITIES at Muir’s McCartney House ‘Muir Living’ location are being enhanced as communal areas receive a facelift for residents there.
The 36-apartment site in Godmanchester, near Huntingdon, is already benefiting from a new communal kitchen area and new flooring as the communal lounge receives a refit and new furniture too.
Work comes after the gardens at the Muir Living location were enhanced just a few years ago, making the beautiful outside space more accessible for residents.
And McCartney House Independent Living Officer, Dawn Hutchinson, says the recent improvements are already being put to good use by the people who make the Muir Living location their home.
“It’s fantastic to see the changes taking place,” Dawn said. “They are all being welcomed by our Muir Living residents at McCartney House.
“The new communal kitchen area is much more accessible for residents and they are looking forward to seeing our communal lounge redecorated too.
“Not only will everything look great, but I’m sure the wellbeing of everyone here will get an extra boost as well.
“And with the new furniture set to arrive in the near future, the Muir Living lifestyle will be even more enjoyable for residents than before.”
Improvements were made with help from residents as we acted from feedback received during #TheBigChat.
We also worked with them to finalise colour schemes for the improvements, ensuring they will enjoy the look and feel of their refreshed communal areas as the work unfolds.
McCartney House is one of five Muir Living locations for older people – supporting people to live lifestyles they love, and cherish their next chapters as part of a creative and caring communities for over 60s.
Residents at all Muir Living locations enjoy the use of large communal areas where they can socialise with neighbours and experience events, as well as their own private apartments.
