Muir hoping to hold more meetings as residents open up

A SUCCESSFUL open meeting for residents has inspired a Muir housing team to hold similar future events.

Residents from Gregory Court in Clayton, Bradford, could discuss their concerns, receive money advice and even enjoy raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support when they met with Muir’s Housing Team for the North on September 29th.

The well attended meeting gave residents the chance to meet more of Muir’s North Team face-to-face, and team members are looking forward to rolling out more similar events after the meeting helped to deliver ‘lots of positive outcomes’.

Wayne Pearson and resident “It was really good to meet with residents of Gregory Court in an open forum,” Tenancy Services Officer, Rebecca Miller said.

“Both residents and the members of Muir’s North Team took a lot from it and we are hoping to do similar events in the future as a result.

“Sometimes residents prefer to talk face-to-face rather than over the phone and this was a good opportunity to bring ourselves closer to them.

“Our Money Advice service also proved popular with several residents booking appointments for a Muir money advisor to visit them and help them save money on household utility bills.

“Sharing a cake and a coffee to raise some money in support of Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event was great too and we look forward to meeting with residents again soon.”
