MUIR’S PARTNERSHIP WITH SPECIALIST AGENCIES HELPS PROVIDE QUALITY SUPPORTED HOUSING FOR RESIDENTS LIKE COLIN
MUIR works in partnership with specialist agencies throughout the country to provide quality supported housing.
One such agency is Vivo Care Choices – who provide onsite support for Muir residents with learning disabilities in the Cheshire West region.
This arrangement helps keep residents happy and properly supported in a home offering them the highest level of independence.
Michelle Davies, area manager for Vivo Care Choices (pictured here with colleague, Sandra Griffiths) said: “It’s fantastic to see what people can achieve with the right care and support.
“The partnership we have with Muir Group Housing Association works really well and helps to keep the residents happy and independent.”
Colin is one such resident to benefit from the partnership. He came to Muir from hospital where he had been recovering from a significant injury, a broken femur.
When Colin first arrived his mobility was extremely limited, restricted to spending much of his time in bed, and being hoisted.
However, the support and encouragement of the Vivo Care Choices staff as well as the bathroom adaptations provided by Muir, he is now back on his feet with full mobility and attending day services five days-a-week.
Colin continues to benefit from his supported Muir home and is becoming more and more independent each day.
