MUIR’S 'REVOLUTIONARY' NEW NRG IS BEING SHOWCASED ACROSS THE COUNTRY

THE successful creation of Muir’s new National Resident Group is quickly becoming a benchmark for housing associations across the country.

Muir’s NRG launched last year after being co-designed with residents and following an innovative promotional campaign which tenant engagement experts, TPAS, hailed as providing “unprecedented” results.

Almost 10% of residents responded, and Muir is now being asked TPAS to share its new resident governance model with other associations throughout the UK as it continues to set new standards.

“We have revolutionised resident governance and engagement at Muir and we are delighted with its impact,” Jackie Perry, Muir’s Assistant Director of Communities and Customer Service said.

Jackie PerryJackie (right) was invited to share the secret of Muir’s success at TPAS’ recent North-West members event before 60 delegates, hosted by Muir, – and will do so once more at TPAS’ forthcoming National event in Nottingham following an overwhelming response.

“It is fantastic to be able to share our learning experience and how we overcame challenges along the way,” said Jackie.

“The presentation included how the NRG was formed to the meaningful role it now plays, little more than six months after being launched.

“Obviously the NRG is still evolving but hopefully its creation can inspire other associations.”

Muir NRGJackie fielded numerous questions from delegates following the presentation and will also be publishing an online blog to help other associations achieve something similar in their communities.

“This recognition underlines just how serious we are about ensuring residents are at the core of our decision-making processes at Muir,” Jackie added.

“The NRG is fundamental to helping us shape services and provide assurance across the board, and we are grateful that residents are committing their time and effort to making it a success.”
