PLANTING NEW MEMORIES HELPS KEEP MUIR ESTATE LOOKING COLOURFUL
PLANTING memories has become a regular feature among residents at Baronia Place in Nantwich.
And members of Muir’s Housing Team have been helping to keep the area colourful by adding new flowers to those planted by residents, as reminders of family and friends.
Tenancy Services Officer, Samantha Walton, was one of Muir’s Cheshire East Team members who worked with a Baronia Place resident to plant some new memories on the day.
Sam (below) said: “We all enjoyed tidying up the raised plant beds for the residents there.
“One of the residents came out to help, and he taught us about what some of the flowers there meant to people, and the sentimental reasons behind them, which was lovely.
“It was good to be active in the community and doing something a little different to my usual day job.”
The team used part of £300 allocated to Baronia Place from the remaining Friends of Muir Group fund to purchase 240 litres of compost and new flowers.
The remainder of the money will also be used by Muir in the community.
“You could see that we made a big difference and hopefully we’ve been able to brighten up Baronia Plac
e even more, and make some new memories too,” said Sam.
