THREE-YEAR VISITING BAN FOR RESIDENT WHOSE ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR DISRUPTED COMMUNITY

A JUDGE has enforced a three-year injunction on a Muir resident for persistent anti-social behaviour.

The order is intended to restore calm in a community where loud late-night parties, drunken and aggressive behaviour, and gatherings which included barbecues during lockdown, had become regular occurrences.

Muir moved to seek the injunction after verbal and written warnings were ignored and incidents continued to take place. It will now help to protect the wellbeing of  residents living nearby.

Andrew Greening, Muir Income Services Officer, said the Association was delighted with the outcome, and said the action taken showed it is committed to supporting residents suffering from ASB.

“Our stance on ASB is that we will work with residents, communities and police to preserve wellbeing,” Andrew said.

“We are delighted the courts have recognised the impact of the resident’s behaviour on the local community and have taken such decisive action.

“We look forward to seeing this Warrington community enjoying life again without such disruptive and upsetting behaviour.

“Muir is pleased to support them and help pursue positive outcomes.”

The injunction means the resident in question can no longer receive visitors at her home other than emergency services, the Local Authority or Muir representatives.

Muir residents recently played a part in helping to revise Muir’s Anti-Social Behaviour Policy.

Following up on resident feedback, and having also consulted with Muir’s National Residents Group, The Association introduced its new revised policy in October 2020.
