WATCH - EXCITEMENT GROWS AS WORK CONTINUES ON TWENTY NEW MUIR HOMES IN NELSON
TWENTY new Lancashire homes are once again going skywards as work on the Muir properties continues.
Work on the two and three-bedroom homes in Nelson first got underway earlier this year before being hampered by Government lockdown restrictions caused by the spread of COVID-19.
However, builders have once again been making progress since returning to the Barkerhouse Road site, with completion still expected in 2021.
“It’s been brilliant to see work start up again on the 20 homes in Nelson,” Annette Westwater, Muir’s Development Officer said.
“All are being made available for affordable rent and they will bring some welcome relief to people seeking affordable housing in the area.
“This development is one we are particularly excited about because Muir has a long-running commitment in the local area and we’re delighted for that to continue.
“We’re very much looking forward to seeing new residents moving into these homes next year.”
Muir obtained planning permission for the ten two-bed and ten three-bed homes in 2019 after it was granted with the support of Stanley Investments by a planning committee at Nelson Town Hall.
The scheme, designed by Eden Building Design, is being built by John Turner Construction Group Ltd.
The development forms part of Muir’s Building New Homes strategy which will see the Association increase the number of new affordable properties it provides each year.
