WORLD CUP FEVER INSPIRING MUIR TO SCORE MORE HOUSING GOALS

WORLD Cup fever is inspiring Muir to continue scoring housing goals and help save people struggling to find affordable homes.

As the 2018 tournament gets underway, Muir continues to ensure it qualifies as one of the nation’s most passionate supporters – supporting families to find affordable accommodation as a social housing provider with a safe pair of hands.

Football Currently managing more than 5,000 properties in the UK, Muir Group Housing Association is celebrating its 50th year – the age at which England footballing legend Sir Stanley Matthews, who played for The Three Lions at two World Cups, retired from the game.

But unlike the Wizard of Dribble, Muir has no plans to hang up its boots, and is focusing on finding the net for its own housing fans.

Emma Robinson“While Gareth Southgate and Harry Kane are doing their best in Russia for England, we want to continue making sure we provide social housing at home for whoever needs it,” Community Housing Manager, Emma Robinson (left) said.

“That’s our goal - to help people live in affordable homes – and provide them with the support our many services offer.”

Last year, Muir committed to building up to 75% more new affordable homes each year, and its free Money Advice service was recently shortlisted for the inaugural Northern Housing Awards.

“Muir’s development teams, money Sam Scottadvisors, maintenance, and housing teams, work tirelessly to tackle the housing crisis and support residents to enjoy a good quality of life,” said Muir’s Executive Director of Operations, Sam Scott (right).

Muir is sure many of its residents will be watching the World Cup with interest this summer.

German citizen, Faustina Motes, became a Muir resident after moving to England ten years ago.

Football One of her sons is following his dream of becoming a footballer in Germany, while her other son last year received a coveted Eton scholarship – things she said Muir’s services gave her family the solid platform to achieve.

Diana Carter is a Muir resident who may well be flying the flag of Colombia at this World Cup.

Born in Bogota, Diana is now living with Muir as she studies at University in Chester.

Tricia Thomas“We wish all our residents an enjoyable tournament. We’ll be keeping our eye on the ball to ensure Muir’s performance remains at its peak throughout this World Cup and beyond,” Performance Manager, Tricia Thomas (right) said.

Mike Watling And, Senior Finance Officer, Mike Watling (left) added: “Whichever nation succeeds in lifting the trophy, be it Brazil, Spain, Nigeria, England, Portugal, Poland or anywhere else, Muir is pleased to be helping its residents find the net with their own personal successes in everyday life.”
