£1 MILLION RE-ROOFING PROGRAMME HELPING TO KEEP SKY HIGH RESIDENTS AS SAFE AS HOUSES

WE’RE re-roofing apartment blocks for residents who enjoy a bird’s eye view of their communities.
An investment programme worth over £1million is seeing us provide new roofs in places where people get a great window on the world.
Our roofing schemes are hitting the heights of Blackpool, Northampton and Reading – ensuring properties meet the Decent Homes Standard and future-proofing homes in all weathers for years to come.
“It’s a huge investment for people living in some of our high-rise homes,” Wayne Kenny, Muir Contracts Manager said.
“Our teams have been working together to ensure any disruption to residents is kept to a minimum, and we’ve had good feedback about how this has helped during the works.
“We’ve been making great progress and have just completed a £160,000 full replacement of a slate pitched roof at a large block in Fern Court in Northampton, which will help ensure residents remain safe in their homes for many years.
“It’s been a fantastic project, and we’re also mid-way through a £240,000 two-phase flat roof replacement at Dinmore Place in Blackpool, scheduled to complete this summer.
“They’re huge investments and they’ll be followed by new flat roofs at two schemes in Reading, at Westerham Walk and Spring Terrace, and another in Northampton, at Brook View, before the end of the year.
“It shows our commitment to maintaining these buildings and ensuring we provide safe, warm homes that continue to meet the Decent Homes Standard as we live up to our Customer Commitment for residents.”
We’ve worked with residents to ensure they’ve been kept informed about the projects along the way.
Charlotte Gout, Senior Tenancy Services Officer in our East region said: “We’ve worked very closely with colleagues in our Homes Department, and contractors, to ensure residents were all informed about the works and have been kept updated on progress, as well as being on-site regularly to help with any enquiries.”
A Dinmore Place resident said: “My Tenancy Services Officer, Barbara, has checked in on me and made sure I was ok and asked if I needed anything.
“She went above and beyond.”
