COMMUNAL IMPROVEMENTS BRING BRIGHTER CORRIDORS FOR SUPPORTED RESIDENTS
NEW ceilings and improved lighting are enhancing communal areas at a supported living scheme in Northampton.
We’ve installed a floating ceiling and upgraded lighting to corridors at Benham Court.
It’s giving walkways at the scheme a more modern look and feel, while making sure wiring and pipework remains tucked away, so people stay safe.
“The new floating ceiling we’ve installed at Benham Court is both more modern and easier to maintain,” Dan Henson, Planned Maintenance Surveyor at Muir said.
“The new lighting will also help residents day-to-day, giving corriders a brighter feel.
“It was an extremely challenging installation with the amount of power, CCTV and fire cabling in the area, as well as piping for gas and hot water.
“We worked with our Fire Safety Team to make sure the new ceiling meets regulations, while also angling the ceiling above the stairs to increase headroom and make the space feel that little bit bigger and brighter too.”
“We’re delighted to be making improvements at Benham Court,” Wayne Kenny, Muir Planned Maintenance Manager said.
“It’s great to help keep people feeling happy in their homes, and we look forward to delivering improvements to communal areas across more of the housing schemes we provide.”
