Construction continues as Muir transforms derelict site into affordable living
SEVEN new properties will be made available for affordable rent in Northwich this autumn as Muir continues to build more homes.
The development is being built on the site of former derelict buildings and will complete around September.
Comprising of six one-bedroom flats and a two-bedroom maisonette, the Beswicks Road site is very close to Northwich town centre and is being constructed by Chrome Services Limited.
Designed by Jay Ashall Partnership, the properties will be let on affordable rent and will regenerate a disused brownfield site which had become an eyesore in the town.
Muir Group Housing Association’s Assistant Director of Assets and Growth, Sarah Lawton-James, says the scheme will help to fulfil a need for more affordable accommodation in the area.
“We are delighted to be able to be delivering more affordable accommodation to people in Northwich.
“Muir has a very long-standing relationship with the town and we are pleased to see that continue with this latest development, which will regenerate what had previously been a dilapidated and tired looking site.
“The properties are very conveniently situated, close to Northwich town centre and all of its amenities.
“They provide people with an opportunity to live at the heart of the town and we look forward to welcoming new tenants after the work is completed this autumn.”
