COUPLE’S MOVE TO NEW MUIR HOME MEANS THEY CAN BEAT PAIN BARRIER AND BE BACK TOGETHER AFTER COVID

MOVING into a new Muir home is set to make a ‘massive difference’ to a young couple who were kept apart by COVID-19.

Helena Leonard and Hamilton Jones, both 22, are thrilled to be moving in to Muir’s newly completed homes in Blackpool.

Both had initially moved back in with parents after their previous park home site closed because of the pandemic.

Watson Road homes But Community Dental Nurse, Helena, soon had no option other than to live alone in NHS accommodation, to protect those around her due to her patient-facing role.

“We’re definitely looking forward to moving back in together,” Helena said as the couple wait for carpets and blinds to be fitted in their Watson Road home.

“After leaving the park home I lived alone in NHS accommodation because of my job.

“My Grandad was living at my mums too, so me being there was a risk to both of them.

Muir residents “Recently we’ve both been back at our parents living out of bags, so this house is going to make a massive difference to our situation.

“It means we can live together again. We’ll have our own space and it will give us more freedom.”

The move will also have a big impact on Helena’s physical health as she will have space to use the occupational therapy aids she uses to stay free from pain.

“Not being able to use them has meant I’ve been in more pain, so that’s going to really help me.”

She and child care practitioner, Hamilton, say they enjoyed a really easy sign-up process to secure their home with Muir.

“Having a brand-new home here is perfect for both of us,” Helena said.

“It means we can stay close to family and it was a really easy process with Muir.

“We are 100% excited about moving in and already looking forward to having Christmas in our own home.”
