MUIR urges all residents to follow UK Government and World Health Organisation (WHO) advice to help combat the COVID-19 ‘Coronavirus’.

The WHO is asking people to wash their hands regularly each day – using soap for at least 20 seconds, or regularly using hand sanitiser.

Will my appointment with Muir be affected?

When contacting us to arrange appointments such as emergency repairs, we may ask about your health and any recent travel abroad.

This will help ensure we deliver levels of service which protect both you and Muir staff in the face of the Coronavirus.

If you are self-isolating, please let us know before arranging any appointments with us.

Should you begin to feel unwell prior to an appointment, please let us know by calling 0300 123 1222 so it can be rearranged if necessary.

Any updates regarding this will be provided on our website as we continue to consider UK Government and WHO advice.

What is Muir doing to help against COVID-19?

Anyone visiting friends or relatives at any of our sheltered and supported schemes should do so for essential reasons only and ensure they use the hand sanitiser Muir is providing in the entrances.

Communal areas at these schemes have been closed and social events suspended until further notice.

We are ensuring good standards of hygiene across all offices, and schemes with particularly vulnerable residents.

If you are showing any Coronavirus symptoms, we ask that you please refrain from visiting any of our sheltered and supported schemes.

Muir's offices are closed to visitors for the time being.

All Muir staff are being briefed regularly as updates become available from the UK Government and the WHO.

Muir staff are now working from home and any returning from travels to specific countries are self-isolating in accordance with UK government advice.

All Muir staff who visit your home are adhering to existing guidelines around infection control.
