Elves take to the streets in aid of charity
ELVES have taken to the streets en masse to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Residents at Muir’s Tweedsmuir sheltered housing scheme in Chester, wore elf costumes for a fundraising walk which took them into the local community.
They donned green and white outfits with a sprinkling of red to surprise people walking the streets as they all took a break from Santa’s workshop in aid of the charity.

Muir’s Tweedsmuir Scheme Manager, Donna Hufton, was one of those ‘elfing out’ on the day and said: “We all had a lot of fun dressing up as elves in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
“It was great to see residents getting involved and to see the surprise on people’s faces.
“It created a really fun atmosphere and there were plenty of laughs.
“Hopefully it all helped to kick of Christmas in style at Tweedsmuir.”
The residents raised £152 for the charity by taking part in the walk as well receiving donations, organising a raffle, quiz and enjoying a mince pie and sherry afternoon.
Donna said: “The Alzheimer’s Society do a lot of great work and I am very proud of how residents raised such a good amount towards such a deserving charity.”
Tweedsmuir is a safe and secure sheltered housing environment for people over 60, where independent living is encouraged and ‘living for life’ is their motto.
It consists of 38 one-bedroom flats, each with their own kitchen, lounge and bathroom.
