ELY ADVENTURE CONTINUES WITH MORE HOMES COMING TO THE CATHEDRAL CITY

OUR Ely adventure is set for its next chapter as we prepare to bring even more homes to the cathedral city.

Known for its magnificent cathedral and being home to Oliver Cromwell’s house, we’re bringing more homes of our own to the Cambridgeshire city with a further 33 set to join the 13 we’ve already delivered as part of a 46-home development.

We’re working with Vistry Group to deliver these 33 new homes – 23 of which are for affordable rent, with the other 10 for shared ownership with Homes By Muir.

Situated at Willow Woods, we’re looking forward to seeing the mix of two and three bedroom homes, maisonettes and apartments complete over the next 18 months; ready for new people and families to enjoy a place to call ‘home’.

“It’s fantastic to see more of this development taking shape,” Annette Westwater, Muir Development Officer said.

“Having already delivered 13 homes, we're looking forward to seeing the remaining 33 come to life with Vistry Group.

“We’re delighted to be working in Ely to bring affordable homes to the city – and to give people in the area a range of shared ownership opportunities too.

“We look forward to seeing more of these homes complete and to seeing them being enjoyed by people and families at prices they can afford.”

The homes form part of our Building New Homes strategy to provide 500 new-build properties from 2022-27.

“This development shows our continued commitment to the region and these properties form an important part of our Building New Homes strategy,” Annette said.

“They follow on from the 40 new homes we provided in 2025-26 in the East region, which included developments in Ketton, Melton, South Kesteven, Huntingdon and Peterborough.”

As well as the Ely development, we’re also currently working on more East region developments in Peterborough, Grantham and Melton Mowbray.

“We’re proud to be providing new affordable homes in our East region,” Alex Fury, Muir Assistant Director of Development said.

“They help keep communities together at prices people can afford with a range of tenures and shared ownership opportunities available.”
