ENFORCEMENT MEASURES HELP KEEP MUIR RESIDENTS SAFE DURING COVID-19
IT'S important that Muir residents feel they can stay safe during COVID-19.
That’s why Muir has been working hard to support Government guidelines around social distancing – to help protect residents from the Coronavirus.
We’ve made sure we’ve acted responsibly and in the interests of other residents if these guidelines have been breached.
Muir recently obtained a court injunction order for one property where a resident and their partner continued to receive regular visitors at a flat with shared communal areas – potentially putting others at risk of contracting COVID-19.
Despite encouraging them to follow social distancing guidelines, the regular visits continued, and Muir was left with no option than to take tenancy enforcement action to protect the health and safety of other residents.
“We want to reassure Muir residents that we will act in where appropriate to ensure social distancing is observed at our schemes and properties,” Jo Worthington, Muir Community Housing Manager said.
“On this occasion, our action has ensured measures are now in place that don’t allow visitors to the property concerned.
“Keeping People Safe is hugely important to Muir as a landlord.
“We’re here to support you during this time and help implement the social distancing measures put in place to reduce risk of harm.”
Muir would like to remind residents that BBQs, parties and gatherings of more than two people are not permitted under Government lockdown guidelines.
Please do not be tempted to bend or break these rules for the sake of your own safety and that of others too.
