Excited young family are one of five to make their move and lay foundations with Muir
AN EXCITED young family has described the ‘fantastic experience’ of moving into their house with Muir as the housing association welcomed them at their new home.
Muir has celebrated the arrival of five new families who have all unlocked the doors to their futures at the Fern Hill development in Farndon.
The Association’s recently developed properties were made available for affordable rent and are already being enjoyed by eager new residents, including parents Joe Brant and Victoria Scurr, who are building a nest with their two-year-old son after making the move north from London.
Joe (pictured right with Victoria, the couple's young son and Muir Income Services Officer, Becky Wright), was happy to share his delight after settling onto the sofa for the first time and said: “It is very exciting.
“We have been waiting a long time for this to happen and now it is finally here.
“We have come up here for a better life for our son and he is very excited to get his own room and have space for his toys.”
The couple, both aged 24, had previously been living with parents but say they are pleased to be branching out on their own.
“It’s all about having your own space,” Joe said.
“We moved in at the weekend and I am absolutely shattered but it is well worth it.
“We are putting down foundations so we can keep things moving forward and moving with Muir has been a fantastic experience.
“They always explain everything and have kept us up-to-date with everything that has been going on so it is great to be here.”
Muir Tenancy Services Officer, Jennifer Toner (left), said the four three-bedroom and one two-bedroom houses, developed by Stuart Milne, had proved popular as she handed the keys over to the five families.
“This really is a very rewarding side to the job,” Jenny said. “It is always nice to provide families with the keys to new homes.
“There are so many happy faces. “Farndon is a lovely village and I hope everyone will be very happy here.”
