FIRE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS FOR RESIDENTS AT NEW MUIR LIVING LOCATION

FIRE Safety is being enhanced at a new Muir Living location to help residents stay safe.
Shalom Lodge in Lytham St Annes became part of Muir Living in 2022, and Muir has now launched a programme of fire safety improvements at the 22-apartment building for over 60s.
Also including a two-bedroom house, residents will soon enjoy even greater piece of mind thanks to new fire alarms and fire doors, which form part of a range of safety work taking place.
“These improvements will provide more security and safety for Muir Living residents at Shalom Lodge,” Andrew Gerrard, Muir’s Senior Fire Safety Officer said.
“We’ve been keen to upgrade safety at the site since Muir Living took handover of Shalom Lodge in 2022.
“We’re committed to keeping people safe and these improvements come after making a thorough Fire Risk Assessment of the building.
“As well as a new fire alarm system and new communal fire doors, residents will benefit from fire stopping works designed to limit how far a fire can spread.
“We’re also installing new communal doors to improve security, and a new warden call system – helping to give Muir Living residents at Shalom Lodge greater peace of mind.”
The work will help ensure Shalom Lodge benefits from the same high safety and security standards enjoyed by other Muir Living residents at locations in Bury, Chester, Ellesmere Port, and Godmanchester.
