Free computer sessions will help Muir residents get online - Register now

MUIR is offering residents in Cheshire West and Chester the chance to get to grips with computers by hosting a series of free six-week courses.

They will help residents learn and develop basic skills, allowing them to get online and use websites as well as learning how to send emails.

The first such course commences on February 28th and will take place every Tuesday at Muir Group Housing Association’s own head office at Lightfoot Street in Chester.

Muir’s Housing Services Manager, Nick Grubb, is encouraging anyone lacking in computer confidence to take advantage of the sessions being made available.

“This is a great opportunity for adults who want to learn something about using computers and the internet,” Nick said.

“We are very pleased to be offering the sessions to residents in Cheshire West and Cheshire and hope they see it as a great way to learn new skills for free.

“Using computers and the internet can open up a whole new world of opportunity, especially for people who may find themselves feeling socially isolated.

“We encourage residents to take part in the sessions, even if you have no experience of using computers at all.

“If you have a friend or relative who is a Muir resident, please refer this opportunity to them and let us help them to join you online.”

While being hosted by Muir, the course is being delivered by training specialists ‘We Are Digital’ who have previously rolled out similar successful initiatives within Muir’s own sheltered housing schemes.
