GOVERNMENT INVITES MUIR RESIDENTS TO SHARE VIEWS AND HELP ENHANCE SOCIAL HOUSING

MUIR residents are being invited to join a national housing quality panel and share their views with UK Government.

The Social Housing Quality Resident Panel will bring social housing residents together from across the country to share their views with Government Ministers on their approach to enhancing the quality of social housing.

Supported by a national survey, this ensures social housing residents can have their voices heard at the very top level with around 5,000 to be asked to share their views about landlord services received during March and April 2022.

The survey will be used to monitor the impact Government reforms will have on social housing residents.

“I’m delighted to launch the Social Housing Quality Resident Panel listening to what tenants have to say about our actions to improve their homes and services, Eddie Hughes MP, Minister for Rough Sleeping and Social Housing said.

“We want to hear from a wide range of residents from across the country, so we can hear about the impact of our reforms.

“I encourage you to complete our expression of interest form and look forward to the first meeting of the Panel and hearing your views.”

The Panel will be made up for 250 social housing residents and be established in England. It will allow residents to scrutinise and influence measures to strengthen the Decent Homes Standard, training and qualification for staff, a new Access to Information Scheme and other planned reforms.

Any Muir resident can submit an application to join the Panel. Applications will close on Friday 29th April, 2022.
