Having Trouble Paying Your Rent? Muir can work with you to find a solution!

WE’RE committed to supporting Muir residents through difficult times.

While continuing to collect rent and service charges as we normally do, it’s vitally important to let us know if you are having difficulty paying or are worried about future payments.

We want to work with you, so please email info@muir.org.uk or text 07537 404678 as soon as possible and we’ll arrange for a member of our Housing Services Team to contact you.

Support

Our Housing Services Team discuss any rent worries and can help in the following ways:

  • Money Advisors and Income Service Officers can provide you with advice on which benefits you might be entitled to over the phone.
  • Our Income Service Officers can also work with you to agree an affordable repayment plan. We recognise that we need to be flexible in response to unexpected events and will make reasonable adjustments based on individual circumstances.

Benefit Entitlement

Should you find yourself with no income due to the impact of coronavirus:

  • There is information for people affected by COVID-19, including information about eligibility for Statutory Sick Pay on the Government website.
  • If you do not already claim benefits, you may be eligible to apply for Universal Credit to help pay your rent and service charges. Find out more on the Money Advice Service website
  • If you’re unable to attend your benefit appointments, please let the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) know as soon as possible by reporting it on your online Universal Credit account.
  • If you require any help or assistance to claim benefits please contact us by emailing info@muir.org.uk or text 07537 404678. One of our Money Advisors or Income Services Officers will be able to help you over the phone.
