HOLLY SAYS MPS APPRENTICESHIP IS A GREAT GATEWAY INTO HOUSING

HOLLY Stone says becoming an apprentice at MPS is giving her a gateway into housing.

The 17-year-old jumped at the chance to do a Business Administration apprenticeship with the Muir Property Solutions team after leaving school following her exams last summer.

And she’s already doing plenty to ensure Muir Group Housing Association residents get the repairs and maintenance response that’s needed by helping coordinate MPS operatives as they go out and about on the road.

MPS staff “When I read about MPS I was really interested in what they did,” Holly said.

“I’d thought about working in housing and wanted to get into a Business Admin-type role.

“I’ve been learning lots of new things and I’ve got involved with booking appointments, work schedules for empty properties, and scheduling the electrical periodic testing.

MPS staff“It’s never boring because I’m doing something different each day and everyone’s been really nice and supportive in the office.”

Holly is documenting everything she does during the 18-month apprenticeship as part of the Business Administration NVQ she’s currently doing.

MPS staffEmma Hughes, MPS Contracts Administrator and Holly’s mentor during the apprenticeship said: “It’s nice having her in the office and she’s settled in really well.

“She’s been contributing towards all of the various business streams, raising jobs, working on spreadsheets, invoices, and booking jobs for operatives.

“Holly has been enjoying the variety and I think the MPS apprenticeship will help her a lot.”
