MELTON MOWBRAY ENJOYING MUIR NEW HOMES AS FIRST OF 16 OPEN THEIR DOORS
MELTON Mowbray has new Muir affordable homes as the first properties on its latest Scalford Road development were completed.
Having provided 14 affordable homes there in 2017-18, Muir is set to deliver a further 16 in the coming year, with the first four of those now ready to provide affordable lifestyles for families.
Muir has just received three three-bed houses and one four-bed property from developers, Bloor Homes, at the Scalford Road site.
And Alex Fury, Muir’s Assistant Director of Assets and Growth says the Association remains committed to helping people in the area beat rising house and rental prices, enabling them to stay in an place they love.
“These properties will provide lovely new homes for people at prices they can afford,” Alex said.
“Rising house prices often mean people move from places important to them in search of something more affordable.
“But these homes mean they can stay close to family and friends as part of a growing Scalford Road community, and we’re proud to be part of that.
“Adding 16 new affordable homes to the 14 we previously provided over the past five to six years shows how we recognise the need for more affordable options in this area and are acting on that.
“We hope people and families will be very happy in these homes, enjoying affordable lifestyles for many years to come.”
The new properties at the Scalford Road site form part of Muir’s Building New Homes strategy which will see the Association deliver 500 new affordable homes by 2027.
The next of the 16 new Scalford Road homes will become available early in 2024.
