MORE SUPPORT FOR BENEFIT CLAIMANTS AND WORKERS – ENERGY SUPPLIES GUARANTEED

EXTRA levels of support are being provided for people claiming benefits, employees and self-employed people affected by COVID-19.

They form part of a raft of temporary measures announced by the UK Government, which also include deals with energy suppliers to ensure vulnerable people continue to receive facilities such as electric and gas should they fall into debt as a result of Coronavirus.

SUPPORT FOR BENEFIT CLAIMANTS AND WORKERS AFFECTED BY CORONAVIRUS

Special arrangements will be in place for people in receipt of benefits who cannot attend reassessments or jobcentre appointments because they are required to stay at home or contract coronavirus.

They form part of a range of extra support and measures being put in place to help workers, benefit claimants and businesses affected by coronavirus.

The measures will also provide support for new claimants, employees, self-employed people and businesses.

SUPPORT FOR YOUR ENERGY SUPPLY

From March 19th, customers with pre-payment meters who may not be able to add credit can speak to their supplier about options to keep them supplied.

The move comes as part of emergency measures agreed with energy suppliers to ensure vulnerable customers who may fall into debt continue to receive services during Coronavirus disruption.

The agreement involves all UK domestic energy suppliers.

Measures include ensuring prepayment and pay-as-you go customers remain supplied with energy through challenging times and supporting all customers in financial distress
