MUIR RE-INVESTS EVERY PENNY YOU SPEND IN RENT – SEE HOW WE DID IT IN 2020-21

EACH penny Muir residents spend in rent is re-invested in maintaining the Association’s homes and services.

Our supporting services are designed to make a positive difference to communities and individuals, including property repairs, planned maintenance, landscaping, provision of new homes, tenancy sustainment and more.

It’s equally important that we have staff with the right skills and experience to deliver these effectively, so you know you’re getting value for money, as well as a good home, by having Muir as your landlord.

Rent pie chart In 2020-21, Muir spent more than 25p in every pound we received on major repairs.

More than 19p was invested in routine and planned maintenance, fixing issues that arose and enhancing the quality of Muir homes.

Over 20p was spent on staffing, administration, office and insurance costs; and more than 16p was transferred to our reserves to support our Building New Homes strategy – providing more newly-built affordable homes for rent and shared ownership.

Muir spent at least 8p on services such as landscaping and cleaning, and 8p more repaying interest on loans taken out by the Association.

The remainder was invested in areas such as Muir’s dedicated care and support services, recouping debt and developing new properties and other activities.
