Muir residents encouraged to apply for jobs in new Northwich ASDA store
MUIR residents in Northwich seeking employment can have their job hopes boosted by the town's new Asda store.
The 68,000 square foot store, at Barons Quay, is currently advertising up to 150 vacancies and Muir residents can apply ahead of the store’s November opening date.
The application process is taking place over the next couple of weeks and beyond.
Muir’s Community Housing Manager for Cheshire West and Chester, Jo Worthington, is encouraging Muir residents looking for work to be among those who apply.
She said: “The new Asda store represents a wonderful opportunity for Muir residents who are looking for work to gain employment.
“I would encourage residents seeking work to attend the Asda Recruitment Information Session on August 19 (detailed below) where they can learn more about the recruitment process and the huge number of roles on offer.”
- The new store will open on Monday 28th November 2016.
- There will be between 120 to 150 job vacancies the majority of contracts will range from 10-38 hours.
- There will be a generic job description for Homeware, George and Food – there will be specialist roles such as Bakers etc. and training will be provided for these roles.
- Rate of Pay £7.44 for days shift £9.48 for night shifts (10pm-6am).
- Staff benefits include 10% discount, Cycle to Work and Child Care schemes, Share Save, Free Legal Advice and more.
- All applications will be online and there will be a 48 question initial assessment both numerical and verbal reasoning. If this is passed you will proceed and be asked to attend a group interview. If failed, you CANNOT apply for another 6 months.
- After the group interview successful candidates will then be asked to attend a 1:1 interview.
- Training will be provided at a local store – Winsford or Runcorn with transport provided.
- The likely start date will be 24th October – three weeks at the buddy store and then new store to fill it.
- No holidays to be booked over the from 21st – 31st November.
- Full uniform provided.

Asda is setting up a Recruitment Centre at the Business Centre in Northwich where both group and individual interviews will be held including information sessions etc.
This is currently in the process of being with the legal team.
