MUIR RETAINS HIGHEST RATINGS AS SOCIAL HOUSING REGULATOR PUBLISHES SECTOR STANDARDS
THE Regulator for Social Housing has awarded Muir the highest available ratings for Governance and Viability.
Muir Group Housing Association retained its G1 and V1 status when the RSH published its ratings on November 28th.
Catherine Dixson, Chief Executive at the Association (below), said: “We are proud that Muir has once again been recognised by the RSH in this way and it is a standard we endeavour to uphold.”
“There is increased scrutiny and expectation of governance arrangements for all social housing providers and we have worked hard to enhance our structure.
“Muir staff have been instrumental in helping the Association to achieve these G1 and V1 ratings, which underline our commitment as a trusted housing association and landlord to our residents.
“The creation of Muir’s National Resident Group, which was launched earlier this year, will help us enhance our standards and the viability of our services even further.”
The RSH regulates registered providers of social housing to promote a viable, efficient and well-governed sector able to deliver homes fulfilling a range of needs.
David Gardiner, chairman of the Muir Group Housing Association Board (right), said: “We are delighted to retain the G1 and V1 ratings as Muir celebrates its 50th year as a social housing provider.
“It is wonderful recognition for our efforts and something Muir will work extremely hard to maintain.”
