Muir staff teaming up with tenants to clear overgrown ground
A GROUP of Muir employees are to pull on their gardening gloves and help residents tidy a green area near their homes.
Staff at Muir Group Housing Association are bidding to tidy up grounds near Gosforth Place in Chester, litter picking and cutting back dense hedges and shrubs.
Land at the back of the houses has become overgrown in recent years, and with residents already volunteering to lend a hand, Community Housing Manager for Muir’s Cheshire West and Chester team, Jo Worthington, says she wants to help them restore more pride at the place in which they live.
“We have created an action plan with some of the residents at Gosforth Place and we will be tackling an area which has become overgrown,” said Jo, pictured below.
“Residents done a lovely job at the front of their houses and have now agreed to have agreed to take part on this day too.
"It will be great to make another positive difference to the area where they live; and for us to meet more of them.
“Staff from various departments at Muir will be taking part so, combined with residents and members of our grounds maintenance contractors Sodexo, it will be a real team effort.
“We hope it will be a really productive day and we are really looking forward to getting our hands dirty.”
Muir staff will be armed with litter pickers and gardening tools for the June 16th tidy-up which is taking place from 10am-2pm, weather permitting.
“It should be a lovely community day and a good way to engage with residents,” Jo added.
