Muir's Watson Road development in Blackpool shortlisted for national housing award
MUIR'S Watson Road development in Blackpool has been shortlisted at the Inside Housing Development Awards.
Completed in September 2020, the 44-home development has been crucial to providing quality new affordable housing in Blackpool.
Shortlisted among more than 250 entries, Watson Road features in the 'Best Healthy Homes Development' category.
Independent research commissioned by Muir has revealed the positive impact the development has had on the wellbeing of new residents, as well as their lives in general.
The development was built on the site of a former plastics factory and has breathed new life into what had become an eyesore in the area following the factory's demise.
"It’s a really positive achievement for Muir to be shortlisted for this award and the success of Watson Road has been a team effort across the organisation," Alex Fury, Assistant Director of Assets and Growth said.
"Watson Road is a fantastic example of how the new properties that we develop are more than just buildings, they are secure homes that enable our customers and communities to enjoy their lives.
Taking place on September 30 at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, the shortlisting success comes hot on the heels of Muir having been shortlisted in four categories at the Northern Housing Awards which took place in May - where Watson Road was also featured.
